Lesli was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania where she graduated from Centre
County Christian Academy and Penn State University. She moved to West Virginia in
2004 to attend medical school at West Virginia University. During that time, she
commissioned in the US Navy and completed her internship and residency training in
Family Medicine at the Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL. She worked as a Family
Medicine physician for several years in Dahlgren, Virginia before being honorably
discharged from the Navy and choosing to stay home full time with her growing family.
She and her husband, Jonathan, moved back “home” to West Virginia in 2016.
Lesli has three children, Allie, Erin, and Wesley. She and her family are members of
Buffalo Church of the Nazarene. There Lesli is actively involved in the Backpack Snack
Ministry, Ladies’ Discipleship Ministries, and teaching Sunday School at the local
personal care home. The Carney family loves attending camp meetings, playing board
games, watching Calvary Baptist Academy high school basketball and women’s college
basketball games, and working around the homestead.
Lesli loves Jesus and loves to see people grow in their relationship with Him. She is
thrilled to be able to serve the Hurricane First Family in her role as the Church Office Administrator.
